Error in DMM Installation "The path is not of Legal form" RRS feed

  • Hi Experts,

    I have UR14 Installed on my MSCRM 4.0 and facing weired error during DMM Installation which says "The Path is not of Legal Form".Even though i have done registry settings as per earlier threads but no use.

    Appreciate if you can help me here.

  • Hi Arif,

    DMM by default is designed to be installed on client machines which can connect to the CRM server... Doing this way, unexpected performance issues in the CRM server can be avoided and allows/helps multiple users migrate data.

    However, the same can be installed in the CRM server itself (If at all necessary) by tweaking some registry entries. While doing so, the product install ID will be different from installations to installations so might need to go through them individually to find the right one.


    In addition to all the above, i would also suggest you to go through this article for good DMM experience.
