Birthday shows up on the contact owner's Outlook Calendar RRS feed

  • Question

  • When birthdays are put into the system, the Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Outlook synchronization process places a calendar entry on the contact owner's calendar.  Several of our customers have asked for this behavior to not occur; is there a way to turn this off?

    Thanks,

  • One way to get around it would be to create a new field to store the birthday. The sync will not look for this field and the birthday will be ignored.

  • After further research, I see that this behavior exists even if a contact is not tracked in CRM.  Simply creating a contact in Outlook with a birthday causes a calendar record to be created.
