MCSD: App Builder - do I automatically qualify if I've done 70-486 as part of MCSA: Web Applications? RRS feed

  • Question

  • The MCSD App Build Certification page says for Step 2: Exams "Pass one of the following exams", being 70-357, 70-486, 70-487. Note that middle one - 70-486, "Developing ASP.NET MVC Web Applications".

For Step 1: Skills it says "Earn your MCSA certification", offering MCSA: Web Applications or MCSA Universal Windows Platform.

I plan to do MCSA: Web Applications, and that certification page says for Step 2: Exams "Pass either exam 70-480 or 70-483 along with exam 70-486".

So by the time I've done 70-483 and 70-486 for my MCSA, it seems I have already qualified for my MCSD because I've already done 70-486 - is this correct?

  • Hello,

Unfortunately an exam cannot be used to satisfy the requirements for both an MCSA and an elective in the same MCSD path.

This means that you will have to either re-take the 70-486 exam or take another exam.

    Best regards,
