CRM Online and Australia Azure location RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

With Windows Azure coming to Australia soon, there is a vast opportunity of customers who have a need to have data hosted within the local national borders. Having said that, I understand that this does not include Office 365 and CRM Online.

Is it possible to have a CRM Online instance provisioned and have it connect to an Australian data centre? Or better yet, have the customer's own Azure instance host the database for the CRM Online instance? This way the customer has full control of the data, but the added benefit of CRM Online managing the application and infrastructure.

    Thanks,

    Kia

  • Azure is already available in Australia.
You are referring to the opening of the two Australian datacenter planned for the end of the year.

For CRM Online currently you can use the APAC region, but you can't choose which datacenter will host it and it's not possible to host it in the customer's own Azure instance.

  • Thanks Guido,

Yes. I mean the data centres. Though the APAC region is in fact a Singapore data centre. Not Australia.

Any Microsoft people here can clarify if its possible to make special considerations once the Aus data centres are open? I'm dealing with a couple of serious clients.
