crm 4.0 - Update Rollup 21 Installation RRS feed

  • Question

  • HI All,

I am planning to install Update Rollup 21 for our CRM 4.0 on premise version.

I found total 10 files on Microsoft Download Center in following link: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=28799

I have CRM server, Email Router Server and SQL server all three on different servers. So i just want anyone who have already done this exercise to confirm that i am selecting correct file to install:

    1) CRM application server(64 bit) - CRMv4.0-KB2621054-amd64-Server-ENU.exe

    2) SQL Server (64 bit) - CRMv4.0-KB2621054-amd64-SRS-ENU.exe

    3) Email Router Server(64 bit) - CRMv4.0-KB2621054-amd64-Router-ENU.exe

4)Office outlook client - CRMv4.0-KB2621054-i386-Client-ENU.exe (I don't find client version for 64 bit. What does this mean? I am not sure all users are using 32 bit or not. Is 64 bit office outlook not supported with CRM 4.0?)

CRMv4.0-KB2621054-amd64-MUI-ENU.exe - What is use of this? Where i need to install this?

Let me know if anyone have points where i really need to take care during installation. I am planning to install 4 setup files which i mentioned above.

    Any suggesions are accepted.

    Thanks,

    Ravi

  • CRMv4.0-KB2621054-amd64-MUI-ENU.exe - gets applied if you have multiple languages installed.

The CRM 4.0 Outlook client is only 32 bit

  • Looks correct.

You should see an additional language pack component under add/remove programs if it is installed. You can also just run the installer, if not installed it will not let you proceed.

Always make sure and back up first if you don't have a test environment to test against.

    Good luck!

  • For second point, need to install SRS related .exe on server where report server related data connector installed, not on SQL Server.

  • Thanks Jason,

    1) My SQL server reporting server is also in different server, So do i need to install CRMv4.0-KB2621054-amd64-SRS-ENU.exe on both servers?

    2) Am I correct in all other three points(1, 3 and 4) which i mentioned in my questions?

    3) How do i know whether multiple languages installed or not? Will it be there in control panel if installed? Or let me know where to check.

    4) Is there any other things i need to take care during installation?
