Searching threads in forums
Question

Hi
If I search for threads with, for instance, Autotext AND Table, I get hits for both words separately not together.
It seems impossible to search these forums when the search function lacks such an simple demand. And if there is a specific search syntax to do this, you have failed showing information about it.
I have tried using Bing search for this issue, but in vain.Any feedback on this?

Hi Peter,
You are correct, there is no way to use the forum search tool with AND. It only uses OR and there's no good way to work around this limitation currently.
There is a thread running in the Suggestions forum asking for the search tool to be made useful:
Adding your voice and vote there will hopefully help us move closer to getting a useable search feature.

Hi Mike
OK. I voted.
Since these forums are one of the greatest resources for us developers, I really hope you see the importance of improving it if Microsoft intends to stay at the top on PC clients and even want a chance on groing for smartphones.

For BING it may help to append &mkt=en-us to your search URL.
Alternatively, use Google. <eg>
