Microsoft Product Keys - Genuine? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am a relatively new IT clerk for a transportation company run out of Maine, USA. I have been here for about 8 months and have run into a series of problems. I am expected to manage nearly 100 computers with individual licenses and configurations. On top of that, poor record keeping and possible fraudulant activity has left me wondering if many of the product keys throughout my company are valid. Beyond that, I am concerned about those I have remaining and whether or not they can be used (there are few records regarding what machines these are installed on).

I suppose my question is two-fold.

    1. Is there a free software that I could install that would scan my work network with Administrative active directory credentials that would tell me what keys are currently in use?

    2. Is there a product key tester that I could use to determine if an Office 2003, 07, 10 or Windows XP, 7 license is still valid / unused?

Either one of these would be extremely helpful for me to organize and move forward legitimately with IT expenses and requirements for the organization I work for.
