Exchange Management Shell - Finding groups in groups RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi guys,

I have a user with a shared mailbox (A) that is receiving emails from our "All Staff" mailbox (B) but I can't work out exactly how. I'm sure it's a group inside a group (maybe more than two) but short of manually tracing every single group I cannot work out how to find out which one I need to remove to stop mailbox A receiving emails when mailbox B is emailed.

I've tried a few things to script this but the number of loops and variables makes me think I'm not going about it the right way. Any ideas?

    Many thanks!

  • The headers of the email message will tell you exactly where it is coming from.

You can also search for the message in the tracking log to see the history from sending to receiving of any message sent through exchange.

Analyzing one message is not a scripting issue.
