EX475 acting up AGAIN! Can't access shared folders RRS feed

    It seems I have to wrestle with WHS every couple of months.

    The back up has proved nearly useless because it didn't restore my C drive as promised.

    It flakes out constantly

    And getting access via my soundbridge is a hit or miss.

    I wonder why I bought it in the first place.

    Now I'm back to an old problem in that I cannot access shared folders. Access denied!

    Hey, I'm the admin!

    When I open my network places folder I don't even see the server and then the network places window closes itself.

    I have restarted WHS

    I have installed .Net 4.0 (last time I had issues it was a corrupt .Net 2.0 file and it took me weeks to track down the issue)

    I have run chkdsk and everything is good good good.

    I have cleared access on Zone Alarm and turned off the MS firewall

    What next? Anyone????

    This sounds like a client issue, not a Windows Home Server issue. Shut down your server and see what your PC does when you open your Network Places folder.
    I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)

    I'm not sure which end the issue is at....I have got to the point now where I can open the folders which were previously denied and click down into a couple of files but then it closes itself.

    And it looks like an XP problem....frustrating...thanks
