office xp on top of office 2007 - won't let me download templates now

Has anyone had problems installing Office XP on top of Office 2007?

it's giving me 'office genuine advantage' errors-- and for some reason-- Office 2007 (I am holding the license in my hand) won't let me download templates for Office 2007-- because it's complaining about Office XP.

That just seems backwards.

Office 2007 license specifically states that I'm eligible for an older copy of the software, right?

Thank you for visiting the Office Genuine Advantage (OGA) program forum. Your post is out of scope for the OGA program forum. Curious did you first uninstall Office 2007 from the computer prior attempting to install Office XP? Please try this process first. Also I suggest posting your question to one of the Microsoft Office Discussion Groups located here:
