I have a lap top that was bought in a store name best buy and the computer came with window xp install
so i wanted to upgraded from xp to window vista home basic, so i took my computer to a friend and upgraded
to window vista so i had the program install until about 30 days later pass it i had log off and log back in, it ask me
to put in my product key for activation and i cant even see my start task bar no more and i try to put in my product key
again and it says "this product key you have entered does not appear valid for a window vista product key" then it tells me
to try another product key or buy another product key online. And i dont have anything to reboost it again or install it again, so this what i think, i think my friend haded on his computer and it work on his and he try to intall it on y computer and it did work but just for 30 days but if there any way i can get help about this problem PLEASE HELP!! and i try that phone activation thing and it didnt help for nothing so please help.

If your Friend has since removed that key from his computer(so the only computer that is using that key is your computer), then use the Activate by Phone method and explain the situation to the Activation Rep.

If your "friend" upgraded your computer to Windows Vista Basic and used the same product key he used on his computer, that is why you are unable to activate Windows Vista. You'll need to purchase your own Windows Vista Basic license in order to successfully activate.
