INVALID_WRPC_TOKEN at associating records thru CRM 2011 UI RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am working on a bigger CRM 2011 deployment with a lot of customizings.
But one thing gives headache to me:

Every time the customer tries to associate records in a n:m relationship thru the standard CRM 2011 "Add existing XXX" dialog an access denied message pops up.

The trace file shows the following message:

    >Crm Exception: Message: INVALID_WRPC_TOKEN: Validate WRPC Token: WRPCTokenState=Invalid, TOKEN_EXPIRY=4320, IGNORE_TOKEN=False, TOKEN_KEY=JTRWPnTvEeC+VQAVXQQQWaoZ0ykRBGIXcYLRf+CAnRejVcuyC9EYR4QDFfEEi68q, ErrorCode: -2140991221

    ----------------------------------------------------

By the way the same solution is running perfectly in the test environment. So I think it's an issue concerning the installation (UR 1 is alreay installed)?!
But there are no other odd effects in the deployment.

    Any suggestions?

  • Below are the extract from the KB article 2466084 (MS CRM 2011 Update Rollup 1 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2466084 ).

    Prerequisites

You must have Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 build 5.0.9688.583 installed to apply this update rollup.

For more information about Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 build 5.0.9688.583, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

2461082  (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2461082/ ) An update for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Release Candidate is available

So please make sure you have applied update rollup 1 on Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 build 5.0.9688.583.

Also article says the issue "The WRPC token state validation is bypassed for some SDK messages that modify data" is resolved in Update Rollup 1 for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011

    Hope this helps.

  • Hi Ramasubramanian,

the Update Rollup 1 has already been applied (current version of the organization: 5.0.9688.1045).

Which circumstances could trigger a reject of the WRPC token and why it only occurs on the AssociateRecords.asmx web service?

    Any ideas?

  • It seems that the issue could be isolated to our custom solution. Because the error does not occure in an empty organization - but when the custom solution is imported into this empty organization it's not possible to associate  records any more thru the UI.

  • Hi Joe,

I run with the same issue and find a solution. Even if it's not the best one, it's a workaround that works.

The fix is to turn off token checks by creating a registry key, with the value 1:
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSCRM\IgnoreTokenCheck (DWORD)

    Hope this helps,

  • Hi Guys,

I am getting the same error with the same error code but the error is only through 1 entity. When I try to associate records from entity on the other side of the relationship, it works fine.

Thanks in advance for the help.

  • Hi,

I realize that this is a mighty old thread but I've seen this in a couple of instances in both CRM 2011 and still in CRM 2013, has anyone got a good solution for this error?

    Thanks

  • HI All, is there any solution to the above problem, actually i am facing the same issue while company form onload it is not showing any details on error popup but through tracesi have found this exception of token INVALID_WRPC_TOKEN.

    Just to give the background.

The account page on our customization has 6 iframes (Data comes from external system) , 4 Out of the Box Grids with Fetch XML queries and 2 custom grids taking data from CRM.

It appears randomly it is not reproduce able but when ever there is error i take traces and this issues is highlighted in trace reader.

Can some one help me in this case?
