Uninstall Windows Vista Ultimate with reduced funtionality RRS feed

    I was given this Dell computer and it says the product key is invalid.  I do not wish to have Windows Vista Ultimate on my computer.  I want to uninstall it and use the Windows XP that came with the computer.  How do I do this with limited functionality, cant even access my start button or control panel.

    A) Do you have a Windows XP Install CD?

    B) If so you should be able to boot from it and install the OS.  It will reformat the drive during the process.

    C) If you wish to save your files, you can slave the HD out to another computer and copy them to an external source.
