Outlook 2010 opens a new instance of word each time a word attachment is opened RRS feed

  • Question

  • Running Windows Office 2010 in Windows 7, if MS Word is already open, and a word attachment is clicked on from MS Outlook, Outlook casues Word to start a new instance of itself (with the startup loading screen).  However, if word is open, and another word document is opened from anywhere else but Outlook, it immediately opens the document (as typically expected) without the startup screen.

How can I make Outlook NOT restart word every time I click on a new attachement (as it takes additional time for each file opened from Outlook)?

    Thanks

  • This is a VSTO programming forum, it has nothing to do with Outlook user issues. Please post in an appropriate forum such as http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/officeoutlook
