How do I restore a folder that is backed up. RRS feed

  • Question

  • How do I restore a folder that is backed up?
I can see files that are in the folder but I want to restore all the files in the folder and its sub folders.
I do not know the names of all the files and sub folders.

  • Unfortunately, there is no way to select a folder and its contents for restore in OneCare. OneCare backup is location agnostic in that it backs up all files based on the types selected in your backup plan. The best solution I can offer is that you can "search" for files to restore and then in the resulting dialog, click on the headings to sort the conents displayed. I don't have a backup here to test the restore with, but I believe that there is a folder column that you can sort by. It won't be easy since the display in this dialog is kind of small, but you can resize the column widths as I recall.
