Renewed subscription - charged too much RRS feed

  • Question

  • My subscription was automatically renewed at the price of 37.99 and not 14.99, which I was led to believe would be my renewal cost at the time of taking out the initial subscription and also at other times throughout the year - such as on the onecare panel and also in other mails.

I have tried to raise a billing support call on a number of occasions but keep getting the error message that there was an error in my support submission.

Based in the UK without telephone support, is there anything I can do.

  • The renewal fee is always the list price. The communications you saw about the lower pricing was probably the special offer for *new* subscribers who used the beta. That would mean that to take advantage of this deal, you'd need to open a new subscription and cancel your old one.

I've reported problems with people in the UK not being able to get through the support flow - (How to reach support (FAQ) - http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsOneCare/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2421771&SiteID=2) - and have been told that this is being investigated.

If the support form (link above) does not work, please send me an email at sboots@mvps.org with "OneCare Renew UK" in the subject line and this URL - http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsOneCare/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2760267&SiteID=2 - pasted in the message body.

Don't send your account information as I can't help you directly, but I can get you to support.

  • I have just spoken to support in US.

This is my fault for not understanding the term 'renewed at the then price'.

So it is my mistake as the 14.99 was a promotional offer. It still offers good value for money for 3 PCS
