  • Your computer has a Shuttle motherboard but is using a loader to emulate an HP SLIC. Also, it is using the blocked Lenovo SLP OEM key. If your computer was made by a major OEM it should have a COA sticker on the side bottom or back that will display what version of windows should be installed. You will need to install that version of windows using the factory restoration media or image. Chech the manual for the restoration procedure.

Also, you have a blocked VLK for office.

  • Hello jimbr32,

Since there's no CoA that means the computer was never licensed to run Windows, so there would seem to be no inexpensive solution.

Because this is a second-hand computer, from a security standpoint, your best option would be to do a clean installation of the Windows version and edition of your choice.

Windows 7 Home Premium and W7 Professional OEM licensing kits are an attractive solution price-wise, and the WGA Kit for Windows 7 Ultimate is a good choice, too.

  • Thanks for the reply.  I don't know much about this machine, a friend of mine bought it from someone else who picked it up on ebay.  I don't see a COA sticker on the machine, so no idea on the windows version.

I don't have a problem buying a copy of windows 7 ultimate if that will fix the problem.  If I buy a copy of windows 7 ultimate, will I be able to use the activation key on this machine?  Will I need to reinstall windows ?
