Not able to run RoboCopy.exe with non admin user account RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hi All,

we have created a batch file for copying files from one server to another server using RoboCopy.

we have used below script in the batch file and scheduled the batch file in the Task scheduler.

    Robocopy.exe /B /COPYALL Source folder Destination folder /s /A-:SH

If we schedule the batch file using Admin account then the files are getting copied from source to destination successfully, but if we schedule the batch file using Non-Admin user account then the task is keep on running and the files are not getting copied.

we provide read & write access to the non admin account user on the source and destination folders.

Is Admin access is required to run RoboCopy.exe ?

Can we run RoboCopy without admin access. please provide information if anybody knows to run RoboCopy without admin access.

  • Not sure what this does in an SQL Server forum, but obviously you need read permissionss on the source and write permission on the target directory. If you also fiddle with the attributes, you need permission for this as well.
