Windows 7 won't connect remotely RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all

I have a WHS machine running at home, which I can RDP to using my laptop running Windows XP.

I recently bought a second drive and installed a full version of Windows 7 Professional. However, I cannot connect to the WHS remotely using this OS.

Both OSs use IE8, and both are patched up to date.

I also use my laptop to connect to a clients network. This also only works when I use Xp, and not W7.

Any ideas on where to start with this?

    Thanks

    Alex

Edited to add: Both machines back up and connect fine when I'm at home.

You probably need to enable remote desktop connections, Control Panel, System and Maintenance, System, Remote, then select " Allow connections from computers running any version of Remote Desktop

  • Thanks for that. I'm away on business at the moment, and can't connect at all for some reason at the moment. I'll test it when I'm back home over the weekend.
