Deleted Default Website playing with Sharepoint...please help RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,
I was following the SBS2003 guide for Sharepoint Services 3.0 installation and wasn't able to access the sharepoint site after completion. I went to delete the site from Sharepoint, but somehow my Defaut website in IIS got deleted, and now I can't access my WHS site at all. I can see in Inetpub that the home and wwwroot directories are still there, but I don't know how to recreate the default site to get my WHS site up and running.

    I appreciate any guidance.

  • Sharepoint is not supported on Windows Home Server, by either the Sharepoint or Windows Home Server teams. There is a (somewhat old) set of installation instructions still available, I believe, but I don't have the link handy. Do a search here in the Windows Home Server forums and you may be able to find it...

As for your default web site, the simplest method is probably going to be server reinstallation. See this FAQ for a (sketchy) description of the process, the caveats, etc.

I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
