Small enchancement to Ask New Question title bar edit control RRS feed

  • I think it would be very helpful if the following logic could be added to the Title textbox on the Start a New Question or Discussion page:

When the event it raised to go look for "questions similar to yours", check to see if the forum is Visual Basic, and if so, see if the title contains "VB6".  If it does, set an error provider message stating that these forums are not for VB6 and provide the link to the VB6 Resource Center.  Finally, disable the submit button so that they cannot create the thread.

It could save a LOT of posts being moved to Off Topic... people can't seem to notice the "Not for VB6" in the description or the sticky thread "Where to Post Your VB6 Questions".  But if they get a notification while trying to create the thread and find they cannot do so with "VB6" in the title, it may be enough to get their attention.
