Email router not sending emails RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,
I have the CRM 4.0 email router installed on the CRM server. It was running perfectly. Today it stopped sending emails, getting the following message above the email: "This message has not been yet submitted for delivery. 3 attempts have been made so far."
I noticed that when i send an email to an email in the company (internal network), it is sent normally but when i send one to an email outside (like hotmail or gmail) i got the above message.
    What could be the problem.
Note: - i was able to send outside emails before.
              - i installed update rollup 1 but it didn't solve the issue.
    Thanks in advance

  • Did you check that the CRM E-mail Router service is started on the server?

  • This has happened to me once or twice

    Things to check -

    CRM Router service is started
Open the CRM Router tool and ensure that the password used is correct and run a Test.  If you get green lights for both tests try checking the Active directory CRM Groups.

If you need more assistance then please reply,

  • Hi,
Where exactly should i do the testing? I did the test in the configuration manager to test Outgoing and Incoming emails. They all succeded.
But where should i test the password?

  • Green Lights on the Outgoing and Incoming emails suggests that the password entered is fine.

Check that the CRM Mailbox user is in the PrivUserGroup in Active directory

Next step would be to check the smtp and see what restrictions are in place to prevent emails from leaving your organisation.

  • Hi,

There can be three passibilities in your case:

    1) Check if you are using the queues to send the outbond messages. There you will hav the option of email router outgoing messages where you need to provide the password.

    2) And at the smtp level.

    3) At Email Router Outgoing message record.

Normally to check the credentials i used to create a user of that and used to check the credentails in that way to confirm that i m using the correct password :)

    Thanks,

    Arif

  •  Sounds like a SMTP-relay problem to me.
Have your Exchange admin check that the Virtual SMTP server on your exchange server accepts smtp relaying for the crm server or account that you are using.

  • 1) To check this go to the queues of mscrm app.

go to Settings --> Business Management --> Queues (Check there if u r using any queues to send outbond emails)

If yes there will be a tab to configure email router ( Check the credentials there).

    2)  go to IIS 6.0 Manager and at left hand pane you will find the SMTP virtual server name.Right click go to the properties of it and from there go to Delivery tab and click on the Outbond Security Button where you can see the credentials try to cross check them.

    3) Email router will be installed in the sql boxes go to the email router from there go to the Deployments tab and from there click modify to cross check the credentials for outbond messages and publish it after changing them.
Do the same at the Configuration tab for the email router.

Note: If you have clustered env repeat the same steps on all the servers.

    Thanks

    Arif.
