Subscription expired after one month??? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I put in credit card info for a paid subscription in April.  The $49.95 went through then.  Since then I have deactivated that particular card (because of some transactions that I did not do on it) and am waiting on the new card.  Now my OneCare has quit working.  It says that my credit card info is wrong.  What I don't understand is if I have already paid for a years subscription ... why did they cancel it after only a month.  Is $49.95 a months payment... every month?  I need this issue resolved.  I cannot find a phone number to call customer/billing support.  I can get a reciept from my bank for that going through.

    Someone PLEASE help!

    Thanks,
    Joni Brewer

  • First, your question - no, the service is for one year - $49.95 for up to 3 PCs for 12 months.
Now for the problems - the credit card should not be an issue if the payment was already taken. You can update your payment information for your Billing account at https://billing.microsoft.com and sign in with your subscription LiveID. You should not be charged again for renewal, since OneCare will not be able to be renewed when your subscription expires next April.
As for "not working" that may be a different problem:

If your subscription to OneCare shows incorrect or expired in OneCare

    • Check your PC date and time. If it is incorrect, change it and restart the computer.
    • Check your subscription status by logging in with your subscription LiveID at http://billing.microsoft.com
    • Confirm that this is the same LiveID shown to be the Subscription ID in OneCare - Help/About…
    • Open OneCare and click "Check for Updates" to have OneCare check for updated credentials

If your subscription is correctly shown at the Billing site, but incorrect in OneCare and your PC date and time are correct, please contact support.
