How to log junk/spam emails IP Addresses? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have been receiving a bunch of suspicious email lately and I want to log the suspicious emails IP address so I can determine their geographic location.

How do I do this in the Mail application included in Windows 10?

The mail application also has separate folders for junk and deleted emails. Do these folders store the emails IP addresses?

    Thanks,

  • I received this reply from the Microsoft Community:

    Hi,
    "Using -double click" method.
Microsoft Outlook: Double-click the message to open it in a new window. Select the file tab, and then click properties.

Windows 10 Mail app: Viewing headers in mail is not possible at this time.

    I wrote this one back:

Well, does Microsoft plan on making the viewing of the email headers possible?

I am NOT using Outlook for my personal home PC. The Windows 10 email app lets me send and receive email. However, it will NOT let me view IP address for Phishing or spam emails.

Is it more important to protect the few who misuse emails or the millions of those who don't?
    Thanks,

  • This is "where is" forum for direction on where best to ask questions so I'd suggest replying to them? or another option is to provide this as feedback using feedback hub.

or possibly over here on uservoice.
