Activating 2.0 problem RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I downloaded OneCare 2.0 but I am having problems activating it, I am a 1.6 active user but my subscrition ID ends with windowsliveid@hotmail.co.uk as when I try using it it says this message in red "The e-mail address or password is incorrect. Please sign in again."

    I downloaded OneCare 2.0.2500.10

Any idea why it wont accept it as my subscription does not run out till xx/08/2008 next year?

I phoned the tech support team and changed my password and restarted the onecare service which seems to have worked, Thanks for the reply.

  • Can you sign in with that LiveID at http://billing.microsoft.com and confirm your subscription?

One possibility is that the password for your LiveID is complex - meaning longer than 8 characters and composed of characters other than just letters and numbers. The activation system has reportedly had issues with this in the past. If that is the case for your ID, you may want to consider changing the password temporarily to see if it allows you to activate.

You can also contact support for help with the activation problem -
