I just noticed that my few publications are attributed to a colleague mine with the same name (Michael Merz) who performed his research at a different school than I - he was at Hamburg University, while I was at Ulm University (working with Konrad Froitzheim).
Consequently, I don't even show up in the co-author graph because my publications have simply been merged with my doppelgaenger's.
So I was wondering if you had an estimate of how many publications are classified/attributed to the wrong author (percentage)? How are you deriving the authors for specific publications? Do you use email addresses?
Thank you,
Michael Merz (mmerz@microsoft.com or
mmerz@acm.org)
