logon script - Unspecified Error RRS feed

  • Hi,

    Receiving the below error when the user logs in. 

    Uploaded the scripe in the below URL.


    Please help why the error occurs at "SWidth = MSIE.Document.ParentWindow.Screen.AvailWidth" function in the VB Script. and how to solve it

  • You cannot successfully run IE in a logon script.

    The error means "access denied".

    Thanks for your reply. This error occurs for only one user.  No error for other users. Anyway to solve the issue.

  • Sorry but this is not a support forum.  You will have to get help troubleshooting the issue as it is clearly not script related.

    Different OS versions can cause very different behaviors with Group Policy and, in particular, with logon scripts.  Profile corruption can affect logon scripts.  Many other things can affect scripts.

    Find a senior tech with good troubleshooting skills with AD and Group Policy help you to track down the cause.

    I will still warn you against running IE in a logon script.  It would be best to run this as a user startup script.
