Unapproved nodes RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear All,

I am trying to add a node to a HPC Cluster under Windows Server 2012 R2 (both the node and the head node), and when trying to configure the additional node, I cannot make it OK, but unapproved.

I tried to change from the different node options (node, broker node, workstation), but I am not able to make it work.

Both nodes are in a internal network, and the head node is configured as Topology 5. Also Firewall was tested to be disable to test if this was the problem.

    Best regards,

  • Hi Tomas,

After you set up the HPC Pack on the compute node and point it to the cluster, the node will appear as "Unapproved". The next step is to:

    1. Create a node template that match your compute node set up (Whether it is normal compute node, or workstation node, or others)

    2. Then you select the unapproved node, click "assign node template" and choose the right node template you created

    3. Wait for configuration done, and the node will become offline

    4. Take the node online, you can then submit job to the node
