Product Key Already In Use, Must Enter A Different One?! RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

It seems in the tech world when it rains it pours. I fried my motherboard and had to replace it. After going through that whole ordeal, I was relieved to get my computer back and see it boot up, but then I was greeted with a friendly "product key activation" notice for Windows Vista. I entered the original product key that is on the box of my Vista 64-bit, but it said that the product key was already in use and asked me to type a different on in. It also threatened me that if I do not, Windows may stop working. Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
