Multiple Desktop Syncs to One Network Share RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am using Synctoy 2.0 in an network environment. There is a shared folder on a networked server ("Network Share"). I desire to sync multiple desktop computers with Network Share. Specifically, Desktop1 will run Synctoy and sync between Network Share and Desktop1's locally stored folder. Similarly, Desktop2 will
run Synctoy and sync between Network Share and Desktop2's locally stored folder.

Is Synctoy 2.0 capable of handling this type of syncing?

  • Yes, that should be possible to setup and run with SyncToy. Let us know how it works out.

As a similar exercise, I wish to sync a folder containing mainly photographs on an external hardrive between 2 desktop PC's (Home and Work).

Work will be set as Contribute to the "shared" Right folder,

Home will be set as Synchronise to the Right Folder.

It certainly looks possible from a technical viewpoint, but are there any pitfalls I should be wary of?
