WGA FAQ contains contradiction? RRS feed

  • Question

  • The WGA FAQ page appears to contain a contradiction.
Q: What happens when WGA Notifications communicates with Microsoft when a PC is booted up?
A: The pilot version of this program periodically contacts after validation. This feature has been removed from the final version of WGA Notification. WGA validation process does communicate with Microsoft periodically.

  • WAGg,

The Windows Genuine Advantage vaildation check is one program.

The Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications Tool is another program.

They are not the same program, they do different things, therfore they are different.

That's how the statement you "Huhhed" can be true.  One program does communicate with MS servers and report information.  The other in its pilot form communicated with MS servers but did not report information; in its deployment (final) form it does not communicate with MS (or any other) servers.
