  • Ok, I misread your question, it didnt come across very clear.

Yes there are plenty of books out there on .NET 3.5, mainly dealing with the language changes rather than new stuff specific in Windows forms.

There will be an upgrade from 2.0 MCPD to the 3.5 MCPD and it will be exam 70-566. This exam will be released once both the MCTS and MCPD exams for Windows 3.5 go live which as stated previously will be in Feb or so.

The upgrade exam means that you will be do a smaller set of exam of the exams in 1 exam. The upgrade is there as a convience to people to do a single exam to bring their certifications up to date rather than sitting 2 exams if you get me. So based on previous upgrades it will be something like 40 questions from 70-505 (MCTS Windows 3.5) & 40 questions from the MCPD exam, which if you pass will give you both certifications from 1 exam.

Prep materials are, well, the offical MS ones arent released yet as the exam still isnt out of beta.

There will be very books on the upgrade at this stage. Your best bet is to look at the matrix for each exam and see what it expects and then cover changes using technical articles, blogs and MSDN. Tho very little was really changed in WinForms 3.5 you should be able to pass it from knowledge of 2.0 and a good knowledge of 3.5

  • Usually the books will appear about 6 months after the exam has gone live. The upgrade will be released around the same time as the MCPD/MCTS exam for Windows which is due the start of Feb

If you have the MCTS only, there is no upgrade exam, you just need to do the one exam 70-505.

  • thanks for replying

What books do you mean? The official preparations? I asked about books which covers new things in 3.5, but doesn't cover all those aspects which is not changed.

I have passed 70-526. I'm going to pass 70-536 in upcoming days. After that I want to go on MCPD. Also I want to upgrade this certifications to .net 3.5. What's the best way to do this, and what kind of preparetaion materials is there(which covers only those things that you need to upgrade. Not everything)?

    thanks :)
