Near Future in My Tasks in PWA 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

When learning to the MCTS certification, I saw Microsoft Claim that if you want to show only tasks for the coming X weeks you can use the Near Future parameter in the server settings.

When trying to use it, I see that it controls what tasks enter the Near Future Planning Window, but I didn't fiund how to show only the Near Future tasks. You can only group on the planning window.

Is it possible to filter on the planning window?

You are correct and the documentation you read is wrong.  The Near Future parameter is used to "Specify the number of reporting
periods to include in the Near Future Planning Window on the Tasks page."  My quote is taken directly from the Task Settings and
Display page in PWA, which only confirms that you are correct.  The only way I can see to filter on the Tasks page is to create an
AutoFilter that filters on the Start date and Finish date of tasks.  That filter would have to be updated every week or so, however,
so I'm not sure it is worth the benefit.  Hope this helps.
