HP PSC 2105 All-in-one Printer

Question
-
Hi there,
I tried installing a driver for MY HP PSC2105 printer, but there were no drivers available for Win2003 or WHS, so i tried the XP driver.
When I try to print a test page it prints nothing, only a blank page comes out.
Is there a way to make the printer work?Thursday, March 1, 2007 5:27 PM

Lack of drivers is a known problem. There should be a much greater range of drivers in the RTM version.
In the meantime, you can try the Vista driver. Some people have managed to get some hardware working with Vista drivers when there was no windows Server 2003 driver and the XP driver didn't work.Thursday, March 1, 2007 6:05 PMModerator -
ok, I'll try the vista driver, let you know if it worked
this is what HP's site says:
"The driver solution for this product is included in your Windows Vista operating system and is already on your computer. There is no need to download anything. Follow the steps below to quickly and easily get your product working with Windows Vista."
has anyone a link to the vista driver?Thursday, March 1, 2007 6:07 PM -
I have a hp psc1400 and had the same problem.
So i downloaded the xp version of the proper driver and extracted the content to a folder with winrar.
After that i did a driver update in device manager.
Choose install from specific location and browsed to the folder i unpacked the driver to and that seemed to work.
So maybe it's also working for your printer :)

Try this:
Go to My Computer, right click & select Properties. Choose the Advanced panel. Click the first Settings button, in the Performance Section. Choose the Data Execution Prevention panel. Choose the first radio button, "Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only", not the second one "Turn on DEP for all ...."
This solved my problem on only getting blank pages. I can't take credit for this fix, but I hope it helps. http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/inkjet/24623

I did something slightly different for my HP PSC 2410 printer. I got the "it won't work on this operating system" message, so when I did a chat with HP, they suggested this work-around: 1. copy contents of CD to computer. 2. Open autorun.inf in notepad. 3. Scroll down to "[SystemRequirements]" and under "Override" (sic) parameter, change No to Yes. 4. Add ", 502" to OSList. 5. Run Setup.exe.
This allowed the printer driver and software to load normally, but now I see there is one problem and that is the printer's media card slots are not accessible in a client or the WHS computer. So now I'm back to attaching the printer to one of my 5 computers, or buying a network capable printer, or buying another media card interface.
