MS CRM 2015 - The file '/MSCRMServices/2007/MetadataService.asmx' does not exist. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

    In Past we had developed a custom application for MS CRM 4.0 for this we had used;

    i. http://abc:5555/MSCrmServices/2007/CrmService.asmx

    ii. http://abc:5555/MSCRMServices/2007/MetadataService.asmx

    Few months back we migrated the from CRM 4.0 to CRM 2013. Thus, we updated the custom application code as per new SDK.

    The application worked as expected and got deployed and used in Production environment.

    Last week client migrated from CRM 2013 to CRM 2015. But now the custom application is not working. When we check exception details we get error message 'The file '/MSCRMServices/2007/MetadataService.asmx' does not exist.'

    Is it that MS CRM 2015 doesnot support MetaService.asmx ? bcoz when we check the service url for CRM 2015 they show. i. 'http://crm2015/XRMServices/2011/Discovery.svc'

    ii. 'http://crm2015/MSCRM15/XRMServices/2011/Organization.svc'

    That is now they are WCF services.

    thanks in advance

  • that is the CRM 4.0 endpoint and it is not supported anymore with CRM 2015

    you should use the WCF services you listed instead and update your code.

  • Hello,

    To make your application compatible you will have to use Organization.svc instead of MetadataService.asmx that is deprecated since version 2011 and was there for back compatibility.
