Basically CRM does not support multiple organizations. So you have one organization. The three primary entities in the organization are : users, teams and business units. Now the buiness units defines the concept of all kinds of Access.
Example your org had 3 business units : HR, Finance, Revenue. And HR has 2 divisions: Payroll and Personnel.
So now you have 5 business units. Basically Payroll and Personnel are the child business units of parent business unit HR.

On the contrary, the "Enterprise" edition of CRM On-Premise does support multiple organizations. However, each organization can be thought of as an isolated instance of the CRM platform, each with their own unique customizations and records. Connecting data between organizations and synchronizing customizations can be somewhat difficult, but not impossible.
