  • HI well what I will do is the following: Install CRM on the crm server connect to existing SQL db's,point to "live". Then on your DNS server create a entry like CRM and point it to the two servers's IP addresses. sweet and short!

  • Hi Glo,

You should have most of the information here:

You can also refer to the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 Implementation Guide available here:

    Hope this helps.

  • I am trying to understand failover architecture recommended for MS Dynamics 4.0. I see you guys are recommending failover CRM server point to live DB, why not point to failover DB? Do you guys see any complications to point to failover DB??

  • Hello,

I am looking for the same solution as asutosh.

We are creating a solution where we have a warm site ready to take over the CRM role if our main building was to burn down.

My question would be can we simply install CRM on the secondary server and point to a SQL Database on the warm site? Then if we use SQL replication by say Double-Take could we then simply start the CRM services and bring that CRM server online?

I am new to CRM so I am unsure of if the clients need to be repointed...
