  • Is there a way for users to change their password, without having the administrator around?

  • Yes.  Assuming that you use the same username on the home computer and in the Windows Home Server Console - User Accounts.

     

    The user would need to change their password on their home computer.  This causes the Windows Home Server Connector software to realize that the password on the home computer and the password on the home server are "out of synch" and a health notifcation will be displayed on this computer.  From the Windows Home Server Tray Icon, right click and select Update Password ...  The user will need the "new" password they just created on the home computer and the "old" password that is stored on the home server.  After entering both passwords, the user should select to use the password from the home computer.
