My Sony Vaio VGN-FW31E laptop [Home Premium] suffered a hard drive failure and I replaced it with a new one. The new one caused an error code of 333 when using my Recovery Disks. I believe the trouble was that the drive was an Advanced Format with 4kb sectors
instead of 512. Being unable to get a suitable hard drive I obtained an IOS image and loaded that but now it will not activate Vista with my product key. I have generated a report with the MGADiag tool.
Can anyone help with this problem please. If not can anyone tell me where I can get a suitable hard drive compatible with a Toshiba MK4058GSX so my Recovery Disks will work.
