Vista will not validate

Question
-
Hello
My Sony Vaio VGN-FW31E laptop [Home Premium] suffered a hard drive failure and I replaced it with a new one. The new one caused an error code of 333 when using my Recovery Disks. I believe the trouble was that the drive was an Advanced Format with 4kb sectors instead of 512. Being unable to get a suitable hard drive I obtained an IOS image and loaded that but now it will not activate Vista with my product key. I have generated a report with the MGADiag tool.
Can anyone help with this problem please. If not can anyone tell me where I can get a suitable hard drive compatible with a Toshiba MK4058GSX so my Recovery Disks will work.
Regards

Sorry about the delayed response!
While Carey is correct that Vista is no longer supported, it should still activate fine.
The problem here is that you appear to have done a Default Key install - you need to change the Product Key to the one on your COA sticker, and all should be well.
You can do that from the System Properties page - Start> right-click on My Comouter and select Properties At the bottom is hte option to change the Product Key
