  • Question

  • I contacted Microsoft for help with viewing a video clip. The advice they gave me changed all my parameters and ruined the system so that I had to reinstall Windows XP Home completely. Now it won't let me validate my product and is saying the key has been used too much. It has been used twice. I can't validate or do any necessary upgrades. Please help me. I am at a loss and this is Microsoft's fault. Thank you.

  • I just tried to telephone activate and they said that it's no longer a product key activation problem, but an installation problem and I might have to reinstall Windows again all over again. I just installed it and the first thing I did was try to activate. Please tell me what is going on. Thanks.

  • NashaCelt,

Backup and offload your data and do a clean installation of XP.  Here's a good tutorial on clean installations:  http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/cleanxpinstall.html

Once a clean installation is completed, try to do an automatic internet activation.  If NO GO, then do the telephonic activation again.
