CRM 4, Outlook client, hoster problem RRS feed

  • Question

  • We just installed CRM 4.0 then installed and configured the Outlook client but all attempts to run Outlook with the CRM client stops while propagating language or Initializing Outlook interface with the error: MS CRM webservice hoster has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience.  If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost.  Please tell MS about the problem...

click send or don't send then another popup: An error occurred loading MS Dynamics CRM functionality.  Try restarting Outlook.  Contact your system administrator if errors persist.

At about the same time Event application log has: MSCRMAddin event 5911 (info), .NET Runtime 2.0 error reporting event1000, MSCRMAddin event 5909, MSCRMAddin event 16940, MSCRMAddin event 16930, MSCRMAddin event5903.

Tried using a new Outlook profile, but same error.  Tried deleting outcmd.dat file, but same error.

Anyone seen this or have suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Tate

I changed my account  Access Mode from Admin to Full and it seems all better now.

  • BTW, I also tried the Microsoft Dynamics Diagnostic, but it hangs in the Client Configuration test 7 of 11.

    It generates application event:

  • Thankyou, we have had the same issue with this. Not sure why it behaves like this though, still this works fine.

  • I'm having this problem running Office 2007 and Vista Ultimate SP1. I have full access on the CRM system. I'm kinda new to the CRM4.0 setup and I'm bit lost on how to fix this issue now.

  • I ran into this problem as well. The account was a "Full User" but that made no difference. What did make a difference was I added the user to a role. Now the CRM Add In in Outlook 2007 is able to connect just fine.

This was a minor annoyance, however, I'm a little disappointed that such an expensive product cannot provide a little more graceful error message to an end-user.
