Release me from backup warning prison

Question
-
I keep getting warnings to create a backup file from Live OneCare. I already have a backup cd from the manufacturer. I do not need Onecares help with this. It is starting to annoy me, because when I try to configure CD/DVD as backup it is greyed out. How do prevent these warnings in the future and get my icon back to green?I just want to use my computer in peace without being bothered.Wednesday, September 10, 2008 11:42 PM

albion9,
Thank you for visiting the OneCare forum for Backup and Restore
You can turn off the backup component of OneCare by:
1. Launching OneCare
2. Click on Change Settings
3. Click on the Backup Tab
4. Click Next
5. Under Your Backup Plan there should be an option to uncheck "Turn on backup on this PC"
6. Click Next and Save.

Note that the CD/DVD option for backup will be dimmed and unavailable if you are looking at the option for Centralized Backup. It should be available if you are configuring backup for your specific computer, selected from the bar on the left of the backup configuration dialog or after stepping through the wizard to not use Centralized Backup.
