Error Installing Email Router for CRM4 in an environment using SBS 2008 to provide Exchange RRS feed

  • It seems the problem is getting the user account for the email forwarder to authenticate to the exchange server when testing connections.  You get the error 404 saying no account.  Clearly there is an account and the credentials provided allow logging into OWA.

    I've read some advise that the error is the result of the OWA and ExAdm virtual directories not residing in the default web site and there are some KB discussions on how to add them to the default site.  We did this and it did work for a while, but it was intermittent and exchange was throwing errors.

    On the phone with MSFT about these errors and the MSFT individual kindly removed the virtual directory from the default site since SBS installs them in a different site.

    We are left with the inability to get the Email router to successfully test access.  There are a few individuals on the web who say they've had the same problem, but there are no discussions on what they did to fix it.

    Please advise.

  • The OWA and ExAdmin web sites reside in the SBS Web Applications web site, not the default. I run SBS 2008 and have had no such problem.
    Does the Email Router work when you do NOT configure a Forward Mailbox? If so, there is likely something wrong with the forward mailbox account.  Is your forward mailbox user account listed in the Windows SBS Console under Users and Groups?
