  • Question

  • Hi everybody,

After today's fix was implemented I am seeing big delays in showing the most recent information. I am pressing F5 to view most recent information, but I am seeing still the old version of the forum and most recent replies (mine included) are not showing.

Can you please fix this problem, as I rely on manual refreshing and checking the most recent information.

  • One more problem - why am I seeing 'Last reply' on the threads that don't have replies yet? I don't think this was the behavior before.

  • There's currently an issue in the SSIS forum where the overview shows 0 replies for certain questions, although those questions do have replies.

    An example:

MCSA SQL Server 2012 - Please mark posts as answered where appropriate.

  • Hi,

this is true for other forums like the VB and c# forums too. The number of replies does not increase, the main-view does not contain the most up-to-date data.

  • I dont' know what "todays fix" was - perhaps it took care of the problems I've been having when posting. But given the issues were seeing that makes it almost impossible to use the forums, I'd say that it would be better to rollback the "fix" so that people can at least USE the forums, no matter how painful that's been...

  • Hi Cindy,

I agree although posting indeed is very good now.

I am wondering if it's possible to have everything fixed? Because when one problem is fixed, another one immediately appears.

I suggest you and other participants in this thread to e-mail to fissues at microsoft dot com. I already did, the bug is logged, but perhaps when many people complain through e-mails, the fix will be applied sooner.

  • I am not sure if that was supposed to be fixed also, but I got the error myself today when I tried to mark Kalman's answer and I've seen many of my answers proposed without a history. Kevin had problem today marking my answer.

  • Would you be able to try now? A lot of the strange issues today are from caching. We believe this is now resolved. Please let me know if you are still having difficulties.

  • I just did again and it looks like the thread has been successfully merged now. I'll verify if the problem is indeed fixed after checking a few forums. I know I've been seeing some later posts relatively quickly, but few of the older posts were not showing. Let me re-check it.

BTW, this took about 20+ seconds to save, but no error.

  • This seems to be resolved with one minor problem - after I posted a reply in a thread, it appears as 'Non read'. But this was not a behavior before.

  • Would this account for some very old postings... like 10 days old...  suddenly appearing?

We track our forum closely, and we are seeing some posts appear as if they are new that were completely unknown to us but they were posted days if not weeks ago.

    Here is an example...

    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/roboticscommunity/thread/07580083-86c4-4a40-97c3-55439926cb83

    Here is another one:

    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/roboticsdss/thread/32e2c3f0-75dd-4cb8-a2d1-ce553146ed2c

Both did a pick-a-boo appearance after 10+ days of being posted.
