sync framework 2.1 history of changes RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

How to track changes ( which user altered which column) in sync framework 2.1 for certain period (ex: 1 week).

I need to track history of changes , that helps my support team when user come back and says: "I am seeing wrong data". The support team can use changes log to identify the problem  and can identify which user altered that column.

"Tracking table" created during provisioning only stores info regarding whether row is changed or not.

    Please suggest me.

    thank you.

  • best option for you is to add a column in the table you're synching to indicate which user created/updated a row.

Note that Sync Fx change tracking is at the row level, not at the column level. even if you only change a single column, the entire row is applied, not just the column that was changed.

if you want who changed which column, you will have to track it outside of Sync Fx. For example, you can write a trigger to check which column has been changed and log in another table which column for which row was modified by who.
