Resharper Ultimate disabled in Visual Studio 2015 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have installed Resharper v2016 but when i run Visual Studio 2015, i don't see Resharper option in the menu. I checked Visual Studio Extension Manager and apparenty Resharper is disabled.

The enable and uninstall buttons are both disabled. How do i get Resharper enabled?

  • There seems to be a problem in VS 2015 and extensions are disabled if when updating the old version is not removed and there are two folders for the same extension.

It has happened with Web Essentials, mine, and many others.

    See:

Web Essentials 2015 extension keeps being disabled

  • I don't see 2 folders for the same extension. In fact, running Visual Studio with /log turned on doesn't show anything remarkable, the extension was loaded successfully.

  • Hi Aishah,

    >> I checked Visual Studio Extension Manager and apparenty ReSharper is disabled.

Do you mean there has the ‘disabled’ beside the ReSharper extension name? I have checked it on my side and found we cannot disable or uninstall this extension under Extensions and Update. Go to Tools-Options…-ReSharper Ultimate-General, click ‘Suspend Now’ to disable it and the ‘ReSharper’ not display under the Menu, the setting page as below:

    Best regards,

    Sara
