Issues while installing CRM 2013 Reporting Extensions: ActiveDirectoryRightsValidator.Failure.Groups PrivReportingGroup RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am facing few issues while installing CRM 2013 Reporting extensions.

    Issue 1:

I could successfully finish the CRM installation and log file looks fine. While proceeding with Reporting extensions installtions, I get the following error:

    ActiveDirectoryRightsValidator.Failure.Groups PrivReportingGroup

I have searched through several blogs and almost everyone spoke about the access rights. I have following access rights.

    Permissions

    • Read
    • Create All Child Objects

    Advanced permissions

    • Read Permissions
    • Modify Permissions
    • Read Members
    • Write Members

When I look in AD PrivReporting group, Service Account has not been added, where as it is added in other 3 groups that have been created.

    Kindly help in this case...

  • Check this out. It is not about service account being added to the group but what access the AD account you are using for installation has.

  • Make sure that the user that is installing CRM has proper Delegated rights over the OU.

  • I had a similar problem where all the required permissions were delegated to the account that was used to install the Reporting Extension but the installation was failing with the ActiveDirectoryRightsValidator.Failure.Groups PrivReportingGroup error.

Adding the Server (where Reporting extension is being installed) to the PrivReportingGroup security group and delegating required rights (just as the installation user) to the server solved the problem.
