Please suggest me what part of dynamics crm comes under development. And if possible can any one explain me how we can customize the applications in CRM. (As if we want to customize any application in share point we use Share point designer)

In addition to the other advice, you also might want to join the XRM Virtual User Group as you'll learn alot about development on the CRM platform and they have lots or resources as well.

you can do cutomization using javascript, plugins(in visua studio .net), webservices (custom asp.net pages), workflows(in visua studio .net), and isv.config.
if you want to learn about MS CRM, you can use the user Guide, by downloading from here.

Hi.
Knowledge you should have to become successful developer for Microsoft Dynamics CRM:
1. JavaScript. One of websites I use is http://www.w3schools.com/
2. .Net (C# or VB.Net) - there are a lot of websites about development using this languages for Plugins, Custom Workflow Actions, Custom webpages, Custom webservices development.
3. ASP.Net - custom webpages development.
4. T-SQL and Reporting Services - for development of Reports.
And of course SDK .
