Onecare and VS.Net 2005 RRS feed

  • Question

While writing an application in VS.Net 2005, everytime I build and run my app to test I have to answer a Onecare popup. Is there a way to disable the firewall for this peticular instance? This can get annoying very fast. Thanks

  • Every time you compile the program you are developing it is a new program to OneCare. You will need to allow it in the firewall each time. Alternatively, when testing your program, open OneCare and turn off the firewall temporarily. Your status will be red, but you won't be prompted to allow the program and it will have access. If you are behind a router and aren't doing anything else that might allow something to get on your PC an gain access to the Internet, you should be fine.
