Loosing network connectivity when backing up. Cannot back up. RRS feed

    I have an external hard drive on my Vista Home Prem. Desktop with Onecare. My Laptop is running Home Prem. as well. I have both of them set up to backup to my external hard drive (Central Backup Device). Everytime I do this, I loose network connectivity on all computers on my network (even the ones without Onecare). Im sure this is do to heavy network traffic on a Wireless-G router. Usually the backup completes successfully. But now the backup on the laptop will not finish. It gets to about halfway and then always says "Backup cannot continue as the network is unavailible. Check your connection and try again." At this time all the computers except the laptop loose connectivity. The laptop can still access the internet. This is very strange. I cannot backup and this is getting a bit frustrating. Any advise? I have already tried restarting all computers, and unplugging the modem and router.
